Leap spans from work developed by the Design Laboratory at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (D-Lab) and the Transform Rural India Foundation, under a seed investment provided by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Leaders from these organizations together explored if advanced design models could enhance the efficiency of various agencies, companies, and civic organizations.

This work surfaced promising opportunities and a growing appetite to bring the D-Lab’s approach to fill a capability gap: a catalyst organization to build design capabilities, unleash creativity, and demonstrate new ways of living, learning, working, and playing that promote the well-being of people and the planet.
